Why My Golf Orlando?

My Golf Orlando was the result of many conversations with my good friend, Tony Austin. Tony lives in Orlando and is in the North Florida PGA Hall of Fame. We co-hosted a golf radio show together for over 4 years and there were many discussions about the state of the game in Central Florida. Our conversations, on and off the air, covered golf fees, inventory, best pro shops, best places to play, the top golf holes in the area, instruction, custom golf club fitting, golf retail stores…you name it, if it related to the game we talked about it. Outside of the golf show that Tony is still hosting, we wanted to make more of an impact on the game of golf in area. When I mentioned I was thinking about a golf website, Tony began listing all of the great ideas that we could incorporate.

My Golf Orlando was born.

I got lucky with the website title, and thought it encompassed the feelings of the people who play here regularly. I also thought the tourists, who make special trips to Central Florida to enjoy what the local golf industry offers, would embrace the title as this is “their” golf destination every winter.

We have many plans and want to showcase golf operators, custom club fitters, the best places to play, the best value for their golfing fix, local tournaments and personalities, and even the leading golf real estate offerings in Orlando and beyond. Tony and I will continue to team up for video and audio blogs as well. Welcome to our golfing community. Remember….it’s My Golf Orlando. Everyone’s Golf Orlando.
